What is MetSU:
|
One of the most important reasons why our Students’ Union exists is to ensure student representation to the University, to NUS, to local and national government and to a huge variety of external organisations. We believe that the student voice is vital in the decisions that are made by the above bodies and we strive to make sure that it is heard on all levels. The President of the SU sits on over ten committees within the University, advising the senior management and the University staff on student affairs, academic quality, learning and teaching, and equal opportunities, as well as in a number of other areas. On an individual level we offer representation to students who may wish to appeal or to submit complaints to the University. The President deals with all academic representations issues and will guide the student through the procedures and accompany them to meetings regarding issues. Representation is also offered when a student finds themselves subject to disciplinary action within the University. The Welfare Officer offers representation for students with accommodation or any other welfare based issues. We have an open door policy and would like to encourage students to visit us if they find themselves facing any problems – remember we are here for you all, to make your student experience as enjoyable and worry free as possible. |
